The Story

My journey into this work didn’t start in the therapy room, it started in healthcare. I spent years working as a nurse, including in weight management and health & wellbeing roles, where I supported people who were trying their best to feel better in their bodies.

What I saw again and again was that most people didn’t fail because they “lacked willpower” they struggled because they were stressed, exhausted, overwhelmed, disconnected from their bodies and stuck in cycles of pressure, shame and emotional eating.

Over time, I realised that focusing only on food, numbers and scales wasn’t enough. In fact, for many people it made things harder. That’s what led me to train in hypnotherapy, Reiki, trauma-informed nervous system work and holistic therapies and eventually to create The Calm Body Method.

This work isn’t about restriction, punishment, or forcing your body into change. It’s about helping your nervous system feel safe again. It’s about calming the stress patterns that drive cravings, emotional eating, burnout and self-sabotage and learning to listen to your body instead of fighting it.

My values are simple: • no shame • no extreme rules • no “before and after” pressure • no obsession with scales or perfection. Just gentle, steady support for people who want to feel calmer, more balanced and more at home in their bodies. This is about health, not punishment. Balance, not control and always self compassion, never pressure.
