Usui Reiki Level 1 Shoden | 2 Day Training | 22/23 April

£225.00

SHODEN Reiki Level One

Shoden is often translated as “first teachings.” but in many ways, it is not about beginning something new. It is about gently returning to something that has always been within you.

This level offers a quiet and steady introduction to Reiki practice, where we begin not by trying to change anything, but by learning how to be present with ourselves. Through simple practices of hands-on work, breath and awareness, we start to notice how the body responds, how the mind settles, and how a natural sense of calm can begin to emerge.

The training

This is a two-day, in-person training, held in a calm and supportive environment in Durham. The group is kept intentionally small, so there is space for each person to be guided at their own pace. Over the two days, we will explore:

• The foundations of Reiki as it was originally practiced in Japan

• The Reiki precepts as a gentle way of supporting the mind

• Simple meditation practices to settle attention

• Hands-on treatment for yourself and others

• Developing awareness through the hands

• Learning to notice the body’s natural responses

There is time to both give and receive treatments, and to allow the experience to unfold naturally without pressure.

Reiju

During the training, you will receive four Reiju. Reiju is often translated as an attunement, but it is perhaps more accurate to see it as a moment of connection and remembering. It supports a quietening of the mind and a deepening of awareness, allowing the practice to become more natural and less effortful over time.

Who this is for

This training is suitable for those who feel drawn to Reiki and would like to explore it in a grounded and respectful way. You do not need any prior experience. It may be especially supportive if you are looking to:

• reconnect with your body

• develop a sense of calm and steadiness

• explore Reiki beyond surface-level understanding

• begin a personal practice that you can carry into daily life

What you may notice

Each person’s experience is their own, but many students begin to notice:

• a quieter and more settled state of mind

• a deeper awareness of the body

• a gentle sensitivity through the hands

• a sense of ease and clarity
