Emotional Safety, Professional Boundaries & Confidentiality
At Holistic Care Durham, emotional and physical safety is at the heart of everything I do. My work is grounded in professional clinical standards and shaped by my background as a former NHS nurse. This ensures every client is held within a safe, ethical and respectful therapeutic environment.
Many of the women who come here are carrying long-term stress, emotional load or trauma held within the body. Because of this, treatments can sometimes bring awareness, emotional release or a deep shift in the nervous system. This is a natural and supported part of the process. You will always be guided and held in a calm, professional and regulated space.
Clear boundaries are essential in this work. All sessions are therapeutic in nature and take place within a professional setting. Any behaviour that is inappropriate, disrespectful or outside of these boundaries will result in the session ending immediately.
Safeguarding
I follow safeguarding principles in line with my NHS training to ensure the highest level of care and protection for all clients. I do work with children and young people, however this is limited to Reiki sessions only. Bodywork, massage and Tsuboki treatments are not offered to those under the age of 16.
For clients under 16, a parent or legal guardian must be present at all times during the session. If this condition is not met, the treatment will not go ahead. If I have any concerns about safety, wellbeing or safeguarding, I reserve the right to take appropriate professional action in line with clinical guidance.
Confidentiality
All sessions are private and confidential. I create a space where you can speak openly and feel fully supported. Information shared during treatments or consultations will never be disclosed to third parties without your consent, unless there is a legal or safeguarding obligation to do so. This is in line with professional healthcare standards and ethical practice.
