Reflexology in County Durham

A Comforting Holistic Foot Treatment

My reflexology appointments combine Reiki, a warm foot cleanse, foot reflexology and hot towels in a complete one-hour treatment. It is time set aside for you to make yourself comfortable, put your feet up and enjoy being cared for.

My approach to reflexology

I bring the same attention and care to reflexology that I bring to all my work. We begin with a brief conversation about how you are and any changes I need to know about. I then adapt the pressure and pace of the treatment to your comfort. You are welcome to talk or enjoy the appointment quietly. There is no expectation to make conversation.

What is reflexology?

Reflexology is a practice that uses massage and pressure techniques on the feet. It is based on a traditional system of reflex areas understood within reflexology as corresponding with different parts of the body.

I work across the feet using a variety of movements and pressure techniques. Your feet can be sensitive, so I encourage you to tell me if you would prefer a lighter touch. Reflexology is not used to diagnose health conditions.

What does the treatment include?

Your one-hour appointment includes:

• Reiki to begin the treatment.

• A warm foot cleanse.

• A complete foot reflexology treatment.

• Hot towels to finish.

You remain clothed, removing your shoes and socks for the foot treatment. We can discuss positioning, warmth, pressure and any sensory preferences before we begin.

Does reflexology hurt?

The treatment should remain comfortable for you. Some areas may feel more sensitive than others. Please tell me if anything feels too tender so I can adjust how I work. There is no need to tolerate uncomfortable pressure.

Reflexology is a complementary treatment and does not replace medical care.
